Trevi Fountain  -  Rome, Italy

When wandering the streets of Rome on your next European travel holiday, you absolutely have to take the time to visit Trevi Fountain.  Not only is it one of the oldest water sources in central Rome dating back to something like 19 B.C., it is one of the most famous romantic spots for couples in the city.  Captured in films like Roman Holiday and Three Coins in the Fountain, it it classic Roma at its best.  Tradition is that if you turn your back and throw one coin over your shoulder into the water, you will be assured of a return trip to Rome.  Throw two coins to ensure romance with a Roman, and three coins to ensure you'll marry them.  I'm not sure how well it actually works though ... I threw one coin in, but haven't been back since.
