Sanibel Island, Florida Lighthouse

There are lots of good beaches along the coasts of Florida where you can wander, bury your toes in the sand, watch the clouds drift by, and collect sea shells.  But one of our favorites has been Sanibel Island on the Gulf Coast near Fort Meyers.  When the kids were young, we had some great weekends playing in the waves while finding starfish and sand dollars.  Through the years we've been able to go back from time-to-time and it's still a wonderful place to relax and let the stress ebb away with the tide.  So if you live in a cold weather state you need a break from the snow and ice ... now's the time to book a flight and warm up in Sanibel.
